The concept of the logo, which symbolizes the connection between the two cultures of Europe and Japan, is reflected not only in the product lineup but also in the store space. The store space with a total area of ​​105 tsubo (approximately 348m²) is an area with the theme of “DISCOVERY” colored with gold on the front side, and a dark tone with black on the back side. It is designed under two different zoning, such as an area with the theme of “EXPERIENCE”. In addition, the design of windows, interior walls, and fixtures that draw graceful curves is also one of the elements that create a unified and sophisticated world view in concert with the “g” logo. Just by walking slowly around the store while looking at the products, you should be able to experience another concept that we hope to “deliver gifts to customers from the store”.

Francesco Rota supervised the space design. What I was particular about was that while expressing the connection between Japanese and European cultures, in terms of method, it followed the design traditions of Milan. In addition, while using a wide variety of materials depending on the location, such as the panel walls that draw gentle curves and copper punching metal partitions, we tried to create a design with a human touch that gives the overall impression a sense of softness and warmth. rice field. In addition, in order to fully convey the value of the products handled here, the design of the display fixtures is inspired by museum exhibits.

Francesco Rota Profile

Born in Italy in 1966. Graduated from Art Center College of Design (California) in 1994. In 1998 he established his own studio in Milan for product and interior design. Since 2004 he teaches at the European Institute of Design in collaboration with Magis. Since 2012, he has been the art director of La Palma.
