Explaining the

Do you know the basic sports plan? The Basic Sports Plan is revised every five years and is an important guideline for future sports measures set by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. This time, the Japan Sports Agency has formulated the Sports Basic Plan (3rd term) that will be operated until 2026 (Reiwa 8), and started in April 2022 (Reiwa 4).

“Inheritance and development of the legacy of the Tokyo Games” to increase the value of sports in the current social situation, such as lifestyles changed due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the legacy gained through the holding of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The content of the measures is based on the two pillars of “priority measures that contribute to the society” and “three new perspectives.” At Deportale, the third basic sports plan is explained in two parts.
In the second part, I will explain what the “three perspectives” are.

What are the new “three perspectives”?

What are the new

Until now, the Japan Sports Agency has said that all people “play,” “see,” and “support” sports in an easy-to-understand manner in order to increase the value of multifaceted sports and convey them to the general public in an easy-to-understand manner. By engaging in sports from various positions, I have been working toward the realization of the following four goals.

① Sports change “life”
② Change “society” with sports
③ Connect with the “world” through sports
④ Creating a “future” through sports

In the 3rd Basic Sports Plan, following the above, we have set up new “three perspectives” in order to aim for a society where people can truly realize “doing,” “seeing,” and “supporting.”

(1) From the perspective of “creating / nurturing” sports that flexibly respond to changes and situations in society without being bound by existing mechanisms.

(2) A perspective that aims to realize a society in which people and organizations with various positions, backgrounds, and characteristics can work “in other words” and “together” and engage in sports while feeling “connection”.

(3) From the perspective of aiming to realize a society and foster momentum so that everyone can access sports regardless of gender, age, disability, financial circumstances, regional circumstances, etc.

It is required to work on priority measures for each of these three new perspectives. I will explain each viewpoint.
