“HANEDA Fashion Swap” vol.2 will be held! | Press release of Haneda Mirai Research Institute Co., Ltd.

Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. will be holding an event “HANEDA” to collect and exchange unnecessary clothing at THE HANEDA HOUSE on the 5th floor of Terminal 1 for 5 days from June 3rd (Friday) to 7th (Tuesday). Fashion Swap ”will be held.

“Fashion Swap” is a bartering event in which participants bring unnecessary clothing to each other, and is an effort to reduce the waste of clothing by reuse and recycling. The first event was held in October 2021, and this is the second event.

“Travel” has many points of contact with clothing. The journey is new, such as purchasing new clothing for the trip, noticing clothing that is not worn while preparing luggage, and some clothing that is thrown away due to dirt or tears during the journey. At the same time as producing consumption, there is also the issue of creating the cause of waste. We will provide a place to solve the problem at the airport.

This time, we will also exhibit upcycling items related to clothing of Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. and All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. During the event period, Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. will play the piano for 15 minutes each at 15:00 and 16:00 on June 4th (Sat) and 5th (Sun) to liven up the event.

■ Regarding carry-on clothing:
Unlimited collection of washed clothing. Please note that once you have received your clothing, we cannot return it. Please refrain from bringing in clothing that is not for sale.

■ Regarding collected clothing:
Clothes left over after the event are classified as reusable / impossible, those that can be reused are handed over to Bookoff Corporation, and those that cannot be reused are made by Work Studio Co., Ltd. through appropriate recycling measures. We are considering an upcycling to a giant shogi board with the support of the Japan Shogi Association.

■ Regarding the solicitation of funds for upcycling efforts in READY FOR:
For 30 days from June 1st (Wednesday) to June 30th (Thursday), while disseminating this project on the crowdfunding site “READY FOR”, funds for the upcycling to the giant shogi board We are crowdfunding.
