The design hasn’t changed since the brand’s first case was created in 1897 using an innovative material called Vulcan Fiber. Vulcan fiber is tough and lightweight, making it the perfect material for luggage and has always been at the heart of Globe-Trotter’s handmade luggage.

A special process is used to bond 14 layers of paper, cotton and wood pulp to form a single piece of strong Vulcan fiber. Skilled craftsmen heat, bend and mold this sheet to create luggage and bags that can handle any situation.
