  • “Henry Passport Index”ranks the strongest passports based on the number of countries/territories they can travel to without a visa.
  • Japan’s passport, which allows visa-free travel to 193 countries and regions, remained at the top for the fifth consecutive year.
  • There are 20 countries higher than the United States, four more than in 2021.

Asia once again dominated the top spot, according to a report from the Henry Passport Index, which ranks the countries with the strongest passports.

Henley & Partners, a British consulting firm, surveyed the number of countries and territories that passport holders can travel without a visa, based on data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Creating a ranking. It includes passports from 199 countries and 227 countries and territories as travel destinations.

Japan has been at the top for five years in a row. The number of countries and regions where Japanese passport holders can go without a visa has increased by two from 2021 to 193.

Singapore and South Korea tied for second place, both of which can travel to 192 countries. Germany and Spain are tied for third place, with access to 190 countries.

The United States remains tied for seventh place along with Belgium, New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland. Twenty countries ranked higher than the United States, four more than in 2021.

Below are the top 10 countries with the strongest passports. The number in parentheses after the country name indicates the number of regions / countries that can be traveled.
