SailGP is a yacht race accredited by the International Sailing Federation, in which national sailing competitions compete for a prize of $1,000,000.
It is a catamaran with a total length of about 15m and a weight of 2.4t, reaching a maximum speed of about 100km/h.
Known as the “F1 of the sea” or “flying yacht race”, the races held near the coast are full of excitement.
The season begins in Bermuda in May and runs through 10 rounds until Sydney, Australia in March 2023.
Each event will be held over two days with a total of six races.
All teams participate in the first five of the six races. Points are added according to the ranking, and the top three teams face each other in the final to determine the champion of each tournament. At the end of the season there will be a grand final.
