The Global Culinary Travel Awards (originally called the FoodTrekking Awards) were introduced by the WFTA in 2015 to set the benchmark for excellence and innovation in the industry. The awards are open to the public on March 1st of each year, and winners are announced in the fall of that year. There were 131 entries from 27 countries this year, 10 of which were selected to gain recognition for business or tourist destinations.
