Hong Kong Anime Wins ASIA Gold Prize and That’s Entertainment Award at 24th DigiCon6 ASIA Awards Ceremony, Standing Out in 16 Asian Regions

HONG KONG, Nov. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Sponsored by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Create Hong Kong (CreateHK), the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA) and TBS Television Co., Ltd. (TBS) ), the 24th DigiCon6 ASIA Awards – Hong Kong aims to identify and support promising local creative talents by promoting their digital content creations to greater recognition. The “DigiCon6 ASIA Awards” were held in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday, November 19, 2022, and Asian representatives were finally able to actually participate in the ceremony. This year’s “DigiCon6 ASIA Awards” will feature many artists from 16 Asian countries and regions, including Bengal, Cambodia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand. There was participation of Entries from each participating region first competed for their respective region’s Gold Award, Silver Award and Next Generation Award.

Lilian Fu Wing Yan won the DigiCon6 ASIA Gold Prize, this year’s second prize for her entry “My Dear Son”, and Stepc & Point Five Creations won the DigiCon6 That’s Entertainment award for her entry “Everywhere”. Hong Kong was the biggest winner among 16 countries/regions at this year’s DigiCon6 Asia Awards. It was extremely difficult to select the best work out of all entries from 16 countries/regions, and the competition turned out to be intense. Each entry was highly praised in its own country/region, but Hong Kong was able to win two of the seven awards. This further proves that Hong Kong’s talent in digital entertainment is extremely high in Asia.

In addition, HKDEA will host the ’24th DigiCon6 ASIA Awards – Hong Kong’ award ceremony and ‘Asian Master Summit’ in February 2023. “Screening of Awarded Entries of the 24th DigiCon6 ASIA Awards” will continue, allowing more local audiences to enjoy the wonderful Asian animation productions. The Hong Kong winners will attend the screening of their films and share their experiences of winning the regional and grand final awards with the audience in the post-screening session. Local and international experts will be invited to comment on all the animated films shown, in order to enhance the creativity of local talents.
